Yes, my training is slacking... but I'm in the thick of bear hunting and trying to salvage any spare time to go out and chase bears. I got some training in, but when it comes to getting to the mountains that takes priority. Training is to serve me in the mountains, end of story. Pretty good training week, only got 4 days in but the rest were spent bear hunting in Idaho. I was able to do the old spot and stalk deal on a nice boar. I got my shot at 23 yards downhill right through the bear's chest. He didn't go very far. Glad to have one down, not time for a giant! This is public land and completely DIY. Monday 5/21/2018 1. Busy week of running the gym, working at the fire station trying to get my task book complete, some training and shooting at the range. The biggest thing is that I finally get to go to the mountains, albeit a day, I'm getting out there! Bear Season Opens
It's been extremely chaotic lately, I am going through some "ADULTing." Trying to get my firefighter task book complete, working three 8-12 hour shifts at the department for training, running the gym, coaching, being a husband and dad. I have not shed hunted once this year, unbelievable. I have not stepped foot into the bear woods yet either. I'm hoping to get things dialed in from here through May and then take a week off and get after two bear tags.
