Bear Scout
Today is opening day for the 2014 Idaho Spring Bear season - I'm stuck in Spokane typing out my workout journal. I didn't chase turkeys this morning, I may go shoot one tonight after work if I have time. I have a flock that roosts just minutes away from my home and I can usually cut them off in the evening on their way to bed.
The weekend was fast, I had one half day to shed hunt and scout for bear sign. Found very little grass, but I guarantee by this weekend there will be some bears out. I did pick up one dandy shed and my buddy Chad did as well. We hiked probably 5 miles or so and it felt great, in fact there's no better form of exercise than hiking in the mountains with a pack on. I will shoot at the range this morning before work and double check broadhead flight and bankroll some confidence.
Chad's first ever elk shed - congrats bud.
