Most people don’t know that excessive arachidonic acid intake promotes weight gain. Moreover, the meat of monogastrics such as chickens and pigs is much more obesogenic than the meat of ungulates such as cattle, sheep, deer, and elk. Excessive arachidonic acid intake deranges the appetite. To prevent that, shift protein intake from chicken and pork to beef and fish. (web searches – Dietary arachidonic acid as a risk factor 2016, Michael Dugan pork as a source of omega-3, Kevin Harvatine omega-3 poultry)
This one hits home. I’m 52 years old 2 years ago I had some life changing events happen. I was 5’10’’ 248 lbs, diagnosed diabetic, wasn’t able to perform at my job as well as I once did. I set a goal of being able to make it easier to hunt on public land. I started changing my diet, I reduced my carb intake dramatically, and started to exercise. I lost 85 lbs and no longer diabetic, off all my meds and feel great. I have now set a goal of Elk hunting this fall, I am working out 4 to 5 days a week at the gym, my issue now is with the increased work out comes increased hunger, and increased fat. I have gained a bit, but am trying to stay leaned down and this information really helps, you are a great inspiration Thanks, Mike
