I am up to 16 trail cameras in north Idaho soaking for bulls. I will only check them when I hunt near them or until next year, they’re just for inventory, to catch predators, and to survey elk numbers. Most are on wallows, seeps, game trails, and pinch points. I have to write down each location and save them in my GPS. I have 2 tree stands set-up over wallows. I have cleared miles and miles of motorcycle trail, cut sneak trails, and dropped into many drainages. Will it be enough? Who knows, each year the elk hunting slate gets wiped clean and all the preparation will make hunting fruitful each day. I plan on smacking two bulls in Idaho this year. That’s my number 1 goal, anything beyond that will be gravy. This weeks’ training was super legit! My shooting reps are way up, I can feel the momentum.
